Rice and Beans

Rice and Beans is a filling, tasty meal full of protein, fiber, vitamins, and deliciousness. And it’s inexpensive to make! In fact, the expression “I don't know beans” means “I know very little” because beans cost so little money. You can eat Rice and Beans from a bowl—or use it as a burrito or taco filling.

Rice is a staple in many countries, which means that it’s eaten regularly as a part of people’s diet. Cooking rice is an essential skill because you can make so many easy dishes using rice as a base. Plus, once you can cook rice, you’ll be able to cook all sorts of grains, such as quinoa, bulgur, and barley.

Cooking rice well isn’t as easy as you might think. There are a few challenges that make cooking rice difficult. The ratio of water to rice varies with the brand and kind of rice, gas and electric stoves cook rice differently, the size of the pan makes a difference, and people like their rice cooked to different consistencies. Even though it can be a little difficult, we know you’re up for the challenge!
